ABOUT THE ALPHA WAVE EXPERIENCE
Alpha Wave Experience is an art collective working on a reinterpretation of Bryon Gysin’s Dreamachine. A rotating light device inducing alpha waves, constructed with the collaboration of creative engineer Anine Kirsten. You look at our machine with eyes closed and you can see colours, patterns, geometrical shapes and so much more.
The physical art piece has been exhibited around the world with great success, inciting curiosity within all those involved in the art world. Its first exhibition was in Colnaghi, one of London’s one of the oldest galleries in the world showcasing art masters such as Dali and Miró, as part of the exhibition curated by Bjorn Stern “On View in Dreamsongs, from Medicine to Demons to Artificial Intelligence”.
International recognition ensued with The Alpha Wave Experience being showcased a second time at Boa Lab in Lisbon and then in 36 Degrés in Paris as part of “Exhibition Atmospheres”. This was followed by exhibiting in London once again, this time at CLUSTER London for Crafts Week and then during Frieze OFF for collector private viewings in partnership with House of The Noble Man & Whitewall Magazine.
You enter a blissful state of meditation or a psychedelic journey and everything is driven by the music we produce. Experiences such as this eye-closed experience, an inside journey, a dream are always difficult to describe.
For this reason we decided to represent in an artistic way these visions according to the testimony of the users of the Alpha Wave Experience. We are presenting some animations generated by the music. This work was made in our studio at BOA Gallery in Lisbon.
